TAE WAN KIM has more than 15 years of experience within both industry and research institutes in the research and development of alcoholic drinks, especially distilled spirits. He initially trained as a chemical engineer in Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea (1995~1999) and completed the MSc Brewing and Distilling at The International Centre for Brewing & Distilling (ICBD), Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (2002~2003). He has subsequently developed a wide range of alcoholic drinks including a new product ‘Chum-churum’ Soju released in 2006, which is now very popular in Korea. TAE WAN KIM has recently completed PhD research through the ICBD (2014-2017) and he is currently a senior research scientist at the KFRI (Korea Food Research Institute).
